The premium for the Kalamazoo show cluster at the end of August appeared about a week ago. I met with a couple of the event committee members, including the secretary, to discuss how our operation of the event would deviate based on the pandemic. Then, using the AKC’s published best practices for the well-being of coursing ability test participants and examples from the show premium and other recent coursing premiums, I drafted a page of COVID-19 practices to include in our premium this afternoon. That’s now been sent back out to those event committee members in preparation for another discussion. I would like to finalize that premium by the end of the week or, at least, by the end of the month, as I’ve already had a half dozen inquiries about its availability. I’m sure the secretary has had quite a few too.
